Thunder point guard Chris Paul has been traded to the Phoenix Suns, according to ESPN’s Adrain Wojnarowski.

Oklahoma City will receive Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first round pick. In addition to CP3, the Thunder will also send over Abdel Nader in the deal.

The 2022 pick is 1-12 protected in 2022, 1-10 in 2023 and 1-8 protected in 2024 before becoming unrestricted in 2025.

In his single season in OKC, Paul was a crucial figure in picking up the pieces after the blockbuster trades of Russell Westbrook and Paul George. 2019-20 was a return to form for Paul, who made both the All-Star roster and Second Team All-NBA.

While Paul’s on-court performance itself was superb, he arguably was just as valuable as a leader to the Thunder’s young roster.

More details to come.
