Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gave us all a tease yesterday when it appeared he would be soon announcing a new shoe deal:
News dropped this morning that our young Prince of the Prairie would be signing with Converse.
For SGA, it appears he is wanting to set himself apart and be different than his peers when it comes to his shoe game.
“The exclusiveness of the brand, not having so many guys, and the ability to express myself on and off the court in so many different ways appeals to me so much.”

It is super cool of SGA to pick a unique brand — with the only other NBA stars signed at Converse being Draymond Green and Kelly Oubre. Once a big NBA brand in the 1970s and 80s with stars like Dr. J, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird, Converse appears to be revitalizing their market presence among star NBA athletes.
With the Warriors out of the bubble entirely, and Oubre’s knee injury status unknown, SGA could be Converse’s only player at Disney World.
Shai plans to wear the Converse All-Star Pro BB Lows once play resumes in the Orlando bubble.

Oklahoma City has had its experience with big brands like Nike and Jordan by KD, PG-13, and Russ — I can not wait to get my hands on an SGA inspired pair of Chucks.
