ESPN released their expert picks for MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and other top NBA awards on Monday. Five finalists for each award were listed and Thunder fans probably couldn’t help but smile when looking over the list of MVP candidates.
Among the two obvious superstar favorites, LeBron James & Giannis Antetokounmpo, were James Harden, Luka Doncic, and…
Chris freakin’ Paul.
While we aren’t even going to entertain the thought of Chris Paul winning the award, it’s just another fun reminder of how spoiled Thunder fans are. Just a year ago, doom & gloom reigned supreme in OKC. The Thunder had traded their two All-Stars and years of rebuilding were ahead of us. Fast-forward to the Summer of 2020: The Thunder sit in 5th place in the West with a chance to move up in Playoff seeding. They have one of the more fun teams in the league, and oh yeah, CP3l is showing up on MVP graphics.
ESPN’s experts name LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo as heavy favorites for the MVP award. And, hey! Let’s not look over that beautiful golden patch in the Sixth Man of the Year Award Favorites. Dennis Schroder should have a decent shot at taking that one home.
